Security
The StarGarden system allows authorized end-users the ability to easily control
security by using a combination of Screen and Record Level security.
The security is set at the User ID level (system LOGON) and therefore allows the
individual who signs on to access only that data to which they have been granted
access. These two security features can be configured by either allowing access
to a User ID or by taking away access from a User ID.
Screen Level Security
Each window in the system is aware of which users (as defined in User Profiles)
have access. This security feature is generally used to allow or prevent a given
user to access a system module. For example a user who is responsible for benefit
administration might be limited to accessing screens which relate specifically to
administering benefits in the system.
Record Level Security
Record Security Groups serve to group employees together for the purpose of defining
record access. This security feature is used to allow a given User ID to access
specific employee records within the system based on a security mask.
