When looking into a new HR/Payroll System, many questions come to mind. We have
put together this list of commonly asked questions. If you don't see an answer to

Can I buy the solution module by module?
No, The StarGarden HRIS is a fully integrated system and the modules are not sold
individually. The StarGarden system is a complete solution for all your HR/Payroll
requirements. Our advanced
scheduling
for the health industry is licensed separately.
What industries do you operate in?
StarGarden focuses on education, health, local government and unionized manufacturing.
We operate most effectively in organizations with complex pay, benefit
and accrual issues.
Where are you based?
Vancouver, Canada with implementation consultants in the USA and remote locations
including Australia and New Zealand.
How many sites use StarGarden?
We have over 80 sites using the StarGarden system in 4 countries (Canada, USA, Australia,
and New Zealand).
How long have you been in business?
StarGarden has been in business since 1983.
Can we depend on you staying in business?
StarGarden is a family of private companies located in each of the four countries
that we do business in. We have been in business for nearly 25 years and we have
many large organizations that have trusted us to provide competent support.
We are financially secure - there is no short-term or long-term debt in any of the
companies nor are there any equipment leases. We do not take on any large projects
and our only long-term commitments are to our customers, employees and the space
that we lease at our locations. We provide source code and a development environment
at the customer site under license restrictions.
How often do you release upgrades of your product?
Supplements are installed on your system periodically as issues are resolved and
new features added. You can expect one of these per year and these are safely installed
by our people...usually in advance of year-end issues.
What other systems does StarGarden interface with?
Interfaces are generally not an issue. We provide a standard interface to your General
Ledger which generally requires no effort but can be easily customized to your requirements.
We can also provide custom interfaces to time collection systems and IVRs as required.

How long does the system take to implement?
Implementation projects vary in length but the StarGarden solution can be implemented
in as little as 2 months.
Do you have internet/self-service capabilities?
Yes, the entire system is WEB-based with role-based security. What you open up to
self service on a role by role basis is entirely up to you.
